UX Strategy Goal Tree Mapping for Fortune 500 Insurance Company
Overview
Worked with Engineering Directors in three verticals to walk them through a pre-populated goal tree map. This exercise was done on a one-on-one basis throughout several meetings to validate and align the OKRs and KPIs for the vertical. Goal tree mapping findings would be applied to the prioritization of the product roadmap.

UX Process
As the UX Architect, I met with the Engineering Directors in three verticals to walk them through a pre-populated goal tree map. This exercise was done on a one-on-one basis throughout several meetings, to validate and align the OKRs and KPIs for the vertical. I pulled forward the main goals that were provided by each of the Engineering Directors during PI planning into the goal tree map. I then pre-populated the goal tree map with driving outputs, lagging metrics, and leading metrics. During each of the sessions, I walked the directors through the metrics to validate and adjust them for alignment with their vision for their vertical.

Once the sessions were complete, I then applied tags to the goals, targets, and trends (driving outputs, lagging metrics, and leading metrics.) These tags allow us to see how each of these metrics would impact the user experience. I also created several other tags that aligned with the tech and business goals. The tags used were task success, efficiency, accuracy, consistency, and happiness for user experience. The tech and business goals were tech cost, reduction in rework, cost savings, profitability, time to completion, and system reliability. These tags helped us to understand the value of each of the metrics.
Once the tags were added, I aligned these goals and metrics to a previously prioritized list of UX work. Next, I went back through the goals to pull forward repetitive goals and metrics. This view was to help prioritize what order the measurement plan goals should be implemented into the products. I was rolled off the engagement at this time, so implementation into the product roadmap did not occur.

Outcome
I was rolled off the engagement at this time, so implementation into the product roadmap did not occur.
